The polystyrene base material is made in Cape Town by SAGEX and then transported by road to Shapesmart(approx 20min)

The final product has about a 20 year life.

Describe the human/environmentally friendly/sustainable attributes of the product
The product is made form CFC Ozone friendly EPS. The final product is 100% recyclable and all waste material created during manufacture is recycled. Unlike EPS used in packaging this product will generally stay installed in houses for many years. Traditionally cornices was made from wood. EPS and the plaster cornices no longer require the chopping down of trees.

We do not use water during manufacture.

No, however our energy consumption is relatively low.

No. Other than helping a couple of refugees make a living in South Africa.
