Sanlam Thinking Ahead with the Next Generation Style Shapers
Sophia Design, and Bianca, had the honour to be chosen to be one of the style shapers at this year’s Decorex.
What is the Sanlam Thinking ahead with the Next Generation Style Shapers?
The aim of the project is to track down new inventive, emerging talent within the décor industry and offer these “Style Shapers” a platform to showcase their decorating skills. The intention of the project is to give young, up and coming interior decorators a playing field for thinking outside the usual norms for materials and design, as well as to exposure their unique decorating abilities in a practical way to the décor industry and Decorex visitors. The challenge and theme for 2009:
The theme for the project is the Decorex Cape Town show theme for 2009: Delicate and Daring, Bringing Cape Town together, beautifully.
Decorex 2009 brings you the new fusion: of modern & focused. Urban & rural. The designed & the discovered. The exotic & close to home. The linear & the lustrous. The organic & the ornate. The world is not new to crosscultural influences. East has been meeting West on the trade winds for centuries. Yet, never before has the fusing process been so intense, nor the sources of inspiration so truly global.
The challenge is for each decorator to style a room within the Sanlam House – which is situated in the Dream Rooms section of Decorex. Dream Rooms offers the best in décor inspiration in the form of room settings and concept stands. Real living solutions, timeless formulas, styling tips and the latest trend ideas will be on offer in this fresh and exciting pavilion.
We challenge each decorator to utilize the space that has been allocated to them within the Sanlam House and put together a room setting that interprets their distinctive design and décor style whilst keeping the Sanlam byline – Thinking Ahead – and the Decorex show theme Delicate and Daring in mind.
